Poster - 3rd Part (Final)

Phew! It took me quite some time to work on the texts. But somehow I managed to complete them. This is how it looks like upon completion.
Besides that I made some adjustments to the texts and the background while I'm at it.

Statement:
Don't Lose Them To Forest Fires
Stop Global Warming
Before It Is Too Late

Description:
The poster above is based on the topic of forest fires.
The message for this poster is the importance of forests and the devastating effect forest fires brings to them. Since the importance of the nature is the priority in this poster, I used colors that have harmony effects for most of its parts.

The layout for this poster is as follows:
The tree in the center is to clearly show the main object in the topic, which is supported by the forest in the background.

The slogan "Stop Global Warming" is made in large, red texts at the center of the poster. It serves as the main message.
As for the other slogans such as "Don't Lose Them To Forest Fires" and "Before It Is Too Late" are to point out that forest fires (which are caused by global warming) will eventually destroy all forests, unless mankind do something about it before it's all too late to make any changes.

List of Tools used:
1. Brush tool
2. Gradient tool
3. Text tool

Poster - 2nd Part

This time, I started off with the background coloring such as the sky and the ground. What followed next was the clouds. I made them using brush tools.
I even used flare for the desired sun in the sky. After that, both the tree and background forest from the previous illustration was copied and pasted into this poster. ( Please refer to Assignment 2-Illustration )
Once those were done, I arranged the tree and background forest. In addition, I added an extra cloud in the sky.

Poster - 1st Part

This is my sketch of my poster for Assignment 3.

Since this poster is to increase awareness, I made it in the form of a scenery with trees instead of forest fires consuming the trees.

At first I looked for some suitable tree posters for references, such as these two.

Yet, I only used the trees shown on them as references.

Computer Graphics - Poster

This is the third assignment, to make a poster! It requires me to make a poster regarding the area of my choice, which happens to be wild fires.

Illustration - 4th Part (Final Outcome)

Finally, this is the final outcome of my work for the 2nd assignment. This illustration sure took quite some time for me to complete.

Information:

Title:
The Green Forest

Description/meaning:
  1. The tree in the front of the illustration shows the survival of a plant.
  2. The forest in the back represents how the trees were once abundant in the world.
  3. Blue color background is to bring coolness into the background of the illustration. It is also to represent the coolness nature brings to the world.
List of tools used:
  1. Paintbrush tool: To draw the lines in the illustration.
  2. Selection tool: To select the drawings and to perform things such as scaling, moving and others.
  3. Warp tool: To reshape drawings into more desirable form/shape.
  4. Live paint bucket: To fill wanted colors into a selected area of the illustration.
  5. Gradient tool: To adjust the colors difference in the illustration.
That's all I can explain in this post. Please feel free to leave a comment in this blog. I would really appreciate it if anyone can point out where my mistakes are in this assignment.
Added in the upper left-hand corner is the minimized symbol I previously made in Assignment 1.
I hope that this illustration will encourage people to appreciate both the beauty and importance of the nature more while increasing their awareness about global warming.

Illustration - 3rd Part

Using the same paintbrush tool, I drew the land, bushes and forest in the background. This is how it looked like before colors are inserted into the illustration. (Please refer to the image above)

Illustration - 2nd Part

I started off with the basic drawing of the main tree first by using paintbrush tool in Illustrator CS2. (Please refer to the picture above)

Illustration - 1st Part

Just like the previous symbol assignment, I have made some sketches on this one. The amount of sketches this time are lesser since I wanted to keep it as simple and quick as possible. And as a matter of fact, I made a decision to use these sketches for this 2nd assignment.

Computer Graphics - Illustration

After finishing the first assignment, it is now the time to move on to the second assignment.
The assignment requires the illustration of my chosen area.

Symbol Design - 3rd Part

Yo! After considering on the most suitable symbol for the assignment, I have finally chosen the 5th symbol (refer to Symbol Design - 2nd Part). I spent several days working on the CS2 before completing the symbol.
This is how the symbol look like upon completion.
The features:
There are several features in this symbol.
  1. The tree with one leaf on the top.
  2. The grey sphere of gas.
  3. The flame at the bottom.
Colors:
  • Green and brown tree - shows the forest and natures in the world. Depicts the natural appearance of Mother Nature.
  • Red and orange flame - are the forest fires caused by global warming. Flame can also represent destruction.
  • Grey sphere - the greenhouse gases that causes global warming. Its grey color shows the negative effects brought upon the world.

Arrangement:

  • The flame at the bottom shows how forests fires destroy forests from the bottom. After all, forest fires start from the ground.
  • The layer of greenhouse gas encircle the flame at the bottom and the base of the tree shows the amount of influence this gas has on the world. It is colored grey due to the fact that the world's atmosphere is worsening.
  • The tree with one leaf emphasize on the condition of forests and natures around the world. The tree is standing tall because it is struggling to survive. As for the leaf, it shows how the forest and natures are dying despite the effort to survive.
That's as far as I can elaborate in this post. Hope it lightens up your understanding about the devastating effects of global warming and forest fires.
Over all, this symbol show the people the condition of the nature and make them aware of the need for us to prevent further global warming and preserve the nature as much as we can.

Computer Graphics - Symbol

The topic for this CG assignment is global warming. And just like the others, I am assigned to design an awareness symbol regarding global warming.
